According to reports, a couple used the money they made from a sex slave ring to fund their daughter’s private school education. This past Thursday, Li Wei Gao and Hong Chin were found guilty of operating a sex-trafficking ring that covered southern England to Wales. The operation ran for over two years and made up to $200,000 before being shut down. Along with paying for their daughter’s education, the couple used the money to pay for an expensive and exclusive membership to a golf club.
Reports noted that the duo was able to get 19 women from Korea and China to the United Kingdom. From there, they advertised the sexual services of the women via online advertising. Hong Chin reportedly used false information during February 2013 and June 2015 to book 92 hotel rooms.
Some of the places the sex slaves were sent to included Windsor, Bournemouth, Southampton, Eastbourne, Brighton, and Maidstone. According to BBC, one of the women testified that she was forced to have sex with about 10 men per day, and then required to give up all her earning to the ring operators. Another person named Ting Li Lu, who was an alleged lover of Chin, was convicted for helping the duo operate their ring. Since being busted, Chin, Gao, and Lu were charged and found guilty of plotting to traffic for sexual exploitation and conspiracy to control prostitution for gain.
