In this clip, Hip-Hop Cop Derrick Parker discusses his backstory in policing and how his love of hip-hop and career in law enforcement merged. Parker says he got his first go at police work related to the hip-hop industry during the tumultuous time of the "East Coast v. West Coast" beef that saw two rap giants die as a result. Parker broke down how the police commissioner was interested in the investigations and how he was assigned to attend Biggie's funeral to quail any attempt of violence.

Derrick Parker also discussed the Biggie murder in terms of the motives associated with his murder one of which involved Biggie owing a debt to some Crips in Los Angeles. To Parker, of all the investigations centered on these two, he feels Greg Kading's investigation got the closest to what really happened.
