The grounds upon which Tupac's ashes were scattered following his untimely death in 1996, will be unto itself going forward, as the estate of his mother Afeni Shakur has worked out a deal to have her widower evicted from the premises.
Gust Davis, who was Afeni's third husband, was estranged from the former Black Panther at the time of her death, but he still hadn't vacated the 50-acre Lumberton, North Carolina ranch she owned when she suffered a heart attack and passed in May of 2016. Afeni had owned the property for more than two decades but was actually living in a boathouse by the San Francisco Bay when her death was reported. Davis all the while, continued to occupy the East Coast residence.
Albeit they weren't together when she passed, Davis carried out his legal duty and traveled to Cali to claim Afeni's body, nearly 20 years after she did the same to be with her son. As Afeni's husband of 12 years, he was seeking a $500,000 payout to go his own way. Rather, the preacher and longtime NAACP activist will receive $198,000 to depart.
Davis is actually not on record as being a part of the trust Afeni had built to distribute money from the Tupac estate to loved ones and selected charities.
