Mexican actor Eduardo Yañez is apologizing after slapping Univision reporter Paco Fuentes during a red carpet event. Eduardo became infuriated when the reporter asked him a question about his son and an alleged Gofundme page.
In a statement given to TMZ, the actor said, "I just want to apologize to all the media and all the reporters out there. [And] all the people that work in the entertainment industry, that's something that I shouldn't have done. I just lost it. Your, not your partner but Paco, this guy asked something very sensitive for me. It [was] about my son and I take family very seriously and I don't share my private life. I know that's not the way to do it. I was trying to answer all the questions, I was even going to walk away from it."
Despite his apology, Eduardo is being investigated by LAPD. When asked if he's being charged he responds, "Paco has not done that move yet. I hope he doesn't but if he does I'm going to have to deal with it." Yanez nervously laughs and says, "Right now, I know my future doesn't look very promising."
Eduardo says he will be returning to Mexico to speak with his family about the matter and to reflect on his actions.
