A 71-year-old Republican Senator from South Carolina named Paul Campbell had some issues standing upright during a traffic stop. The Senator was clearly intoxicated and even worried aloud about the possibility of losing his job. Campbell ran into the back of motorist Michaela Caddin on Interstate 26 and was asked to take a sobriety test after state troopers arrived on the scene. The politician had a blood-alcohol level of 0.09%, just over the legal limit of 0.08%. Campbell was subsequently placed under arrest for DUI and while in the patrol car he remarked, “This may cost me my job. You know that, I guess.” Campbell claimed that he wasn't the driver of the car stating, “This is not fun. This kinda sucks. I’m going to change the law on this….I’m not DUI. I wasn’t driving the car anyway.”
