The baseball world has been mourning the sudden death of former Phillies pitcher Roy Halladay, who died in a tragic plane crash this past Tuesday. Reports noted that Halladay was flying a single-engine airplane that crashed off the coast of Florida.

Many have offered their condolences to the family of the 40-year-old, who was a two-time Cy Young Award winner. However, not everyone had kind words for Halladay, as Michael Felger of the Boston sports radio show Felger and Mazz, mocked and made fun of Halladay’s death only hours after the news broke.

According to a clip that was captured, the rant went on for 10 minutes and found Felger saying Halladay deserved to die. Felger said, “If I die helicopter skiing, you have the right to do the exact same thing I’m doing to Roy Halladay. He got what he deserved.”

Along with that, he called Halladay a “jackass” and placed “splat” sound effects throughout the rant. “‘Wee! Oh whoa! Look! I just landed on the water everybody. I’m gonna tweet it!’ SPLAT. You’re dead. With two kids, moron,” said Felger.

Since then, Michael Felger has been hit with harsh criticism for his intense and inappropriate rant directed at Halladay. The criticism led to Felger issuing an apology, saying, “I regret my conduct yesterday.” He went on to say his rant was “inappropriate,” and that he does not want any sympathy for his actions.
