With the #metoo movement in full swing and an unprecedented number of people coming forward with stories of being the victims of sexual harassment and assault at the hands of high-powered people, it seems there have been very few folks speaking up about the issue in the hip-hop community.

During a Tuesday morning stop at Hot 97's Ebro in the Morning show, Trina weighed in with her thoughts on the subject coming from the viewpoint of a woman who has worked in the industry for years.

"In the world, we're seeing all the sexual assault, rape, sexual harassment allegations unveiling, right?" said Ebro. "I'd love to hear from a woman in this game, with all of this happening ... I'm sure that you've been in environments that are uncomfortable ... can you share some of that, and some of that knowledge with young girls coming up in this game?"

While responding, Trina explained the most important thing is to be aware and keep your wits about you.

"It's just very important to be careful of who you're around, who you associate yourself with, and how much of yourself you put out there," she said.

"I didn't ever want to be in a situation that I wasn't in control of."
