The daughter of legendary San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jerry Rice has accused her ex-boyfriend of choking her during a verbal altercation that turned violent at an Indiana hotel last month, according to TMZ Sports.

21-year-old Jada Rice made the accusation in a police report involving her ex, 24-year-old New Orleans Saints defensive tackle Jeremy Liggins.

Liggins, who was on the Colts at the time of the incident, got into an argument with Rice in the early morning hours of Dec. 16 after the couple had been out clubbing all night. According to the police report, the verbal sparring began because Rice was miffed about other women approaching her football player boyfriend throughout the night.

Rice claims that after she confronted Liggins around 2 in the morning, things turned physical when he shoved her. Rice responded by grabbing his gold chain and destroying it. Rice claims she then fled to the bathroom and locked the door, in fear for her safety. Liggins, however, broke down the door and grabbed Rice by the hair before dragging her into the bedroom.

Rice claims Liggins then began choking her with one hand, "causing her to have difficulty breathing." She says she then called her mom, who called the police.

Indianapolis PD arrived around 5:30 in the morning and checked Rice for injuries but reportedly didn't see any visible ones. Police said they also noticed Rice was drunk, "unsteady on her feet, slurring speech, and vomiting."

When police questioned Liggins, he told them that "other than pushing Rice back with his arm to create distance, he did not assault Rice." He also said it was he that went to the bathroom to avoid confrontation, not Rice.

Police made no arrests, and as it stands the investigation is closed.
