Authorities are looking to take boxing great Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s dad, Floyd Mayweather Sr., into custody for an alleged assault that is said to have happened in the Fall.
On Tuesday, January 23, it was reported that a warrant was put out for the 65-year-old former fighter and trainer exactly one week ago. The January 16 order reportedly stems from an incident that went down after the Las Vegas match between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin on September 17.
At some point after Mayweather left T-Mobile Arena in the early morning hours he reportedly got into a confrontation with a woman who confronted him in his car. There haven't been many details reported on how the rift developed, but at some point during their dispute, Mayweather got out of the ride and walked around to the passenger's side to drag her out because she refused his orders to leave.
According to a report filed by the woman earlier this month, Mayweather proceeded to grab her by the leg and attempt to yank her out of the vehicle. He then got more aggressive by pounding on her leg with his fist, before removing her and hopping back in to drive away. The claimant reportedly wound up hospitalized for minor injuries shortly after the altercation.
Mayweather is currently maintaining his innocence, stating through a rep that the accuser is merely "trying to extort money" from Sr.
