It’s been over 20 years since the world lost Tupac Shakur. Even though the artist has been gone for over two decades, his name has remained as relevant and spoken about than ever before. At the peak of his fame, Tupac was sent to Clinton Correctional Facility for his alleged role in the rape of Ayanna Jackson in 1993 at Nell’s Nightclub in Manhattan. Pac served a portion of his 1 ½ to 4 ½ year sentence and was released after striking a deal with Suge Knight.
Shakur went on to deny his involvement in the abuse of Jackson. Jackson remained quiet about the subject for over 25-years until she recently broke her silence speaking with DJ Vlad.
Jackson recalls what the terrible night was like for her, which sent shockwaves across the internet. Many artists have come forward in defense of Shakur including; Yukmouth, Daz Dillinger, Treach. Another voice that sounded off alleging that Jackson lied was Shakur collaborator and groupmate, Napoleon of The Outlawz.
In the video, he questions why Jackson would even say anything about the late artists since so much time has passed. He also comments on Jackson calling Shakur a “convicted rapist,” even though he was not sent to prison for rape.
“They put Pac in jail for some time of… [sic] sexual conduct, but it definitely wasn’t rape.” He goes on to say that no one should believe her and that he’s speaking out to protect the character of Shakur. “As a person that’s known Pac since I was 14-15-years old, I lived in the same house as Pac, I rolled with Pac, Pac’s personality… he would of never, ever did anything like that."
Napoleon ends by saying how her comments are unfair to women that have gone through real sexual abuse. “There’s woman’s that really do get mistreated and really do umm, get taken advantage of and we know that this can actually happen, but in her situation, it didn’t happen at all."
