The funeral for late Chicago rapper Fredo Santana took place this past weekend. Friends and family gathered together to pay their respects and say farewell for the last time. Santana passed away late last month due to severe liver damage.

Several attendees were dressed in black and red, and there was a full-size cut out of Santana in the funeral lobby. Fredo Santana's father uploaded a picture to Instagram with the caption: "Laid my son to rest,I'm @ peace my #6".

After learning about his son's death in January, he wrote: "The strange thing is,in my last conversation with God I asked if any of my children was being called home before me & asked can I take their place, but it Doesn't work like that. This pain won't go away"

During the burial ceremony, the rapper's loved ones poured champagne over his flower-covered coffin, as it was lowered into the ground. His cousin, fellow Chicago artist Chief Keef was also in attendance.
