Former First Lady of the United States—Michelle Obama recently revealed the portrait that will be going into the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C.
According to ‘CBS News,’ Michelle Obama’s portrait as well as Barack’s will be placed among a complete collection of previous presidential portraits in the museum operated by the Smithsonian. Barack’s portrait was crafted by Kehinde Wiley, while Michelle’s was created by Baltimore-based artist Amy Sherald.
Michelle issued a statement regard the piece, saying “I am humbled, I am honored, I am proud but most of all I am so incredibly grateful to all the people who came before me in this journey."
