Nike selected the perfect man to host the opening night of its NBA All-Star weekend Makers Of The Game event in Los Angeles on Thursday, February 15.

Kobe Bryant was scheduled in as the very first guest of the inaugural Makers H.Q. function, and thus the table was set to get him to discuss some gems about his illustrious career in L.A. With it being ideal that his 81-point game be discussed in such a juncture, it was only right that organizers seated Jalen Rose across from him, seeing how Rose was guarding him that game.

Fans will recall Bryant making history on January 22, 2006, when he posted what until this day is noted to be the second highest point total during a game in NBA history. He did so by sinking 28 of 46 shots from the field against Rose and the Toronto Raptors, although, Kobe told the 1,500 people who remained on hand to watch him talk after the day's festivities, that he didn't recall Rose being his primary defender.

"Like, you really did not guard me that game, dude. You get a bad rap for that and you might have defended me like twice," Bryant told Rose, who responded by revealing that he's done the math and actually played D on the five-time Finals champion some 19 times.
