Dwyane Wade is still the man, and he proved it on Tuesday night. Wade led the Miami Heat to a 102-101 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on the strength of 27 points. Wade also hit the clutch game-winning shot in the final seconds to propel his team to the win.
Wade scored 15 of the Heat's 17 final points in the fourth quarter against the 76ers, and his game-winning shot was contested by young star Ben Simmons. Although Simmons' defense was tight, there was nothing he could do against Wade, who looked like his old self during the game.
Prior to the game, Wade wrote the name of a Parkland shooting victim Joaquin Oliver on the sole of his shoes. He also took to social media to post a picture of Oliver, with the caption, "This is Joaquin Oliver. He was one of the 17 young lives that were lost tragically at Douglas HighSchool in Parkland. Joaquin was one of many that I heard was excited about my return to Miami and yesterday was buried in my jersey. This is why we will not just SHUT up and dribble!"
He also dedicated the rest of his season with the Heat to Oliver. "It’s way BIGGER than basketball. We are the voices for the people that don’t get to be heard. Joaquin Oliver may you Rest In Peace and I dedicate my return and the rest of this Miami Heat season to you," wrote Wade in a tweet.
