Kendrick Lamar is having a good year. Riding the success of his chart defying DAMN. album last year, the Compton rapper took home four Grammys last month at the prestigious award ceremony. King Kendrick also curated and produced the Black Panther soundtrack, adding another number one album to his catalog. As success continues to spiral Kendrick towards the stratosphere, he never fails to remain humble and reach out to his fans.
Kendrick was in Oslo, Norway, last Friday, touring alongside James Blake. The European leg of the DAMN. tour is in full effect, and they love him just as much overseas as we love him here. During the show, one lucky fan was treated to a personal moment from Kung Fu Kenny. A young girl, by the name of Vilde Lauvås, was standing front row watching Kendrick perform, recording the rapper from her phone. Attentive to his fans, Kendrick beckons for the girl to hand over her phone, which she does.
With Lauvås' phone in hand, Kendrick takes a selfie video while on stage. "We 'gon make sure we show the whole world," starts Kendrick before his statement is drowned out by screaming. He turns the camera so that Lauvås and her group of friends can be seen in the audience. What an amazing moment of fan appreciation.
