According to court records, President Trump's attorney Michael Cohen is saying former porn star Stormy Daniels violated their nondisclosure agreement 20 times, giving him the right to fine her $20 million.

The court filing claims Daniels broke the agreement "at least" 20 times. The agreement states Daniels can be fined $1 million for "each breach." Daniels, real name Stephanie Clifford, filed a separate lawsuit alleging the agreement should be nulled because Trump never signed it.

Daniels says Cohen paid her $130,000 less than two weeks before the 2016 presidential election in exchange for her silence about a year-long affair she had with Trump. Court records say the relationship started in 2006.

Daniels' attorney, Michael Avenatti, called it "bogus" and "unprecedented."

"How can President Donald Trump seek $20 million in damages against my client based on an agreement that he and Mr. Cohen claim Mr. Trump never was a party to and knew nothing about?" Avenatti said.

Trump has yet to personally address his alleged affair with Daniels.

Cohen also filed a motion to move Daniels' lawsuit from a state court to a federal one.

Avenatti responded saying:

"They are now attempting to move this case to federal court in order to increase their chances that the matter will be decided in private arbitration, thus hiding the truth from the public," he said.

It's just the latest chapter in one of the most polarizing presidencies in American history.
