Casual basketball fans might not be knowledgeable of the mentorship relationship Kobe Bryant, and Kyrie Irving have.

When Kyrie Irving hit that step back three-pointer in Steph Curry's face to seal the deal on his first ever NBA Championship, Irving revealed that he was possessed the "Mamba Mentality" in his post-game interview and before his big moment he revealed that the two communicate on a regular basis.

The two have also grown close enough to launch a joined Nike collaborative sneaker that dropped last fall in the Kobe Bryant x Nike Kyrie III 'Bruce Lee' based off of the iconic Nike Kobe V 'Bruce Lee' which has become a sneaker grail in its own right.

Now with this past Friday, April 13th, officially dubbed as Mamba Day in the basketball and sneaker realm in honor of Kobe Bryant's final professional NBA game where he dropped 60 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists, killing the Utah Jazz's playoff hopes, NBA players and sneaker enthusiasts around the world take to the internet to show off their favorite Nike Kobe silhouettes and moments on social media.

And with Kyrie learning so much and being an admirer of Bryant, he took to his IG account to post this reverse colorway rendition of the sought after Kobe x Nike Kyrie III 'Bruce Lee' with a caption stating the following, "My take on Mamba Day!! For the culture only....πŸ”ΊπŸ‘ @kobebryant."

The notorious 'Kyrobe' logo placed at the tongue of the kicks have made this specific sneaker a collector's item, symbolic of the respect between generations past and future generations, as well as the torch being passed from the Black Mamba to one of his disciples.

As of right now, there's no word on whether if Nike will decide to drop this specific colorway of the sneaker but, it would be a good look for the brand to celebrate both Kobe Bryant and Kyrie's success.
