The beautiful thing about art is that it's always open to interpretation and what one person might perceive as good art, another might not agree. And in this day and age in hip-hop, art is more important than ever whether it be in regards to album covers, personal style, or lifestyle aesthetic, imagery has become a crucial part to the success of our favorite musical acts and tastemakers.
Now, an image curated by an artist known as, @pvtso, is causing quite a stir as the piece reveals two dominant artists facial silhouettes from today's generation of hip-hop artists alongside artists that could be considered of yesteryear but are still important figures in the culture.
The artists in the initial photo feature Kendrick Lamar and Tupac Shakur, while the others feature J.Cole/Nas, Joey Bada$$/Mos Def also known as Yasiin Bey, Future/Lil' Wayne, Chance The Rapper/Common, Childish Gambino AKA Donald Glover/Andre 3000, SZA/Erykah Badu, Schoolboy Q/Ice Cube, and lastly, Frank Ocean/D'Angelo.
In many ways, these artists share similarities with their paired originators, but it takes time to reach the legendary statuses some of these musicians possess. With that said, do you think these artistic pieces are accurate in their comparisons? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
