Drug usage has always been prevalent in the music realm since the conception of Western music and as the times have changed different drugs and substances have been introduced to the music realm.

Most recently, prescription medication such as anti-depressants and painkillers have become the drugs of choice in the hip-hop community. With the recent passing away of figures like Lil Peep, Fredo Santana, and the legendary Pimp C of the UGK duo, not only are rappers becoming more conscious of the dangers of ingesting drugs like Xanax and Codeine-based syrup.

Which brings us to the once avid syrup sipper in Lil Pump who took to social media to announce that he too will be joining the 'Kick The Cup' movement and will no longer partake in consuming the organ-damaging acetaminophen.

In the post, Lil Pump can be seen in a backyard holding a bottle of Codeine-based syrup stating, "Aye man, for everybody sippin' lean out there, it's some bulls***. We ain't sippin' no mo' we kickin' the cup!" Then proceeds to launch the bottle into the pool.

Hopefully, more influential members of the hip-hop community come forward with their denouncements of abusing prescription drugs, and this particular part of the culture becomes obsolete. Only time will tell, rest in power to Pimp C, Fredo, and to all of those who've lost their lives due to the abuse of prescription medications.
