Rapper Rackboy Cam shot for more clout when he released a video this week for his YFN Lucci, PnB Rock diss track “Fugazzi” that features look-alikes of the two. The song dropped last year, but that didn't stop Cam from amping up his vitriol against Lucci who he is currently suing for copying his song “Everything Be Lit” to create the smash “Everyday We Lit.”
A rep for Rackboy explained the lawsuit to Complex in a statement last month. “We have decided to pursue this action because previous discussions between Rackboy Cam and TIG to do what is right were unfruitful.
We can’t allow the continued infringement of Cam’s rights. This is not about money, this case is about the principle of doing what is right and preserving the integrity of music,” the rep said. The lyrics to both song’s hooks are quite similar but definitely have a slightly different melody. Cam’s song features both Maino and Vado and was released back in 2016.
“Everyday We Lit” dropped last year and ended up becoming a major hit for the two. The song’s success certainly must have played a role in Cam’s decision to take legal action against Lucci. The current status of the lawsuit is unclear at this time, but it could end up getting Cam a major payout.
