Comedian Michelle Wolf ruffled feathers with her speech at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner this weekend. Wolf criticized press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, stating, “I think [Sanders is] very resourceful. She burns facts and then uses the ash to create a perfect smoky eye. Like maybe she’s born with it, maybe it’s lies. It’s probably lies.”
While the joke stirred controversy, Dave Chappelle came to Wolf's defense during a sit-down with PBS NewsHour, stating, “I don’t know who those people think they are that she can’t say that to them, ’cause they offend people all the time. I think that for many people ... it’s cathartic to watch that woman speak truth to power like that.”
