WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan is looking to return to his pro wrestling stomping grounds as new plans to bring him back to WWE are underway.
TMZ Sports has reported that the disgraced pro wrestling icon and the WWE have made positive contact with each other recently as dialogue was triggered by plans for their previous special The Greatest Royal Rumble is Saudi Arabia. The royal family requested the WWE for his appearance, but he was unable to attend.
Hulk Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, was fired from the WWE in 2015 after the infamous video of him using the N-word several times was leaked via the now-defunct Gawker Media. Since then, Hogan has maintained a low profile and reportedly been attempting to clean his image and show he has since learned from the incident.
Sources tell TMZ Sports that the WWE was reportedly “paying close attention to Hulk's speech at the Boys & Girls Club” this week as the company, though both sides wish to work with each other again, wants to bring him back with consideration towards the fans his vulgar rant offended. The former wrestler said he is choosing to “educate kids to not use the same language he did” as the company visited to see how it was received by the audience and it seems to have turned out well. TMZ reported that the crowd Hogan a loud ovation.
In a statement sent to TMZ sports from the WWE, they state "WWE applauds the work Hulk Hogan is doing with Boys & Girls Clubs of America to turn what was a negative into a positive by helping young people learn from his mistake. While he has taken many steps in the right direction since we parted ways, Hogan is not currently under contract to WWE."
