Things between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj haven't always been cordial, but the two rap superstars seem to be putting the past behind them.
Cardi and Nicki were both at the 2018 Met Gala in New York on Monday (May 7), and despite animosity brewing between them earlier this year, they posed for a photo together.
During a Beats 1 interview in April, Nicki Minaj spoke about feeling "ambushed" over Cardi B saying that Nicki's verse was cut down to make room for her. Nicki told Zane Lowe, “The only thing with Cardi that really, really, really hurt my feelings was the first interview she did after ‘Motorsport’ came out … ’cause she looked so aggravated and angry, and the only thing she kept saying was ‘I didn’t hear that verse, I didn’t hear that verse, she changed her verse,'” Minaj said. “I was like, ‘What?’"
Nicki would go on to say that she was happy to hear Cardi say that there is no feud between them, adding, “I finally felt like she said something genuinely nice about me. With ‘Motorsport’ I felt ambushed … At the time I went on Twitter and I explained how ‘Motorsport’ came about and people said I was lying, so I texted Quavo and was like, ‘Can you back me up on this?’ Because I didn’t want people to think I was lying,” she said. “And he didn’t back me up … It hurt my feelings to know that people would watch me be slaughtered and not one person will step in to say the truth.”
