Jailed drill rapper Boss Top learned his fate on Thursday, May 10, when a Cook County judge read him a sentence that will cost him the next six years of his life in a penitentiary.

Boss Top, who was born Tyree Davis, has been locked up on $1 million bail since March of 2016. The 27-year-old Oblock affiliate was arrested and incarcerated on weapons and home invasion charges that year. His detention would stifle what was a relatively promising rise on the back of singles "Bet He Won't," "Hell Naw," "30 Choppaz," and "At Yo Neck," which featured fellow Chi-town rappers like Lil Durk, and heavy hitters from outside of the region, like Waka Flocka.

Previous to his derailment, Boss Top actively rapped alongside SD, Cdai, and Gino Marley under Fredo Santana's Savage Squad Records imprint. He signed to Santana in 2013. The move would see them experience rocky times together down the line when Santana's cousin Chief Keef accused him of stealing from him.

It has been reported that Boss Top was in the process of extending his run with the imminent release of At Yo Neck 2 before getting knocked. He will likely return to the streets when he turns 33 years old in 2024.
