Yeezy and Adidas could face multiple fines up to $129K each after an employee’s foot was smashed under a 3D printer.
The printer fell on to the employee who was working Yeezy at the time. The Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA) is currently investigating whether or not there were workplace violations in place at the time of the accident. Each violation found could cost Adidas up to $129K each and potentially threaten the company’s relationship with Kanye West's brand. The office, located in Calabasas, is where Yeezys are designed.
The victim’s injuries were so severe that he had to be airlifted to a nearby hospital after the incident. Sources close to the situation told TMZ that witnesses have been relatively quiet on the matter, but there is talk that his foot might have been amputated. The unnamed employee has not returned to work since the incident and has hired legal assistance to most likely seek damages for the horrific injury. Neither Kanye or any other Yeezy employee has yet to comment publicly on the matter.
The Yeezy brand has enjoyed much success since partnering with Adidas and Kanye recently discussed plans to open three new offices in locations across the country.
