Late last year, Master P put out a casting call seeking social media personalities who might be interested in breaking into cinema, and it looks like he's finally found who he was looking for in viral star Fatboy SSE.
Fans will recall P making a rather successful transition into film with I Got The Hook Up in 1998. I Got The Hook Up followed a pair of scam artists who go from hustling broken televisions and radios to eluding gangsters who are out to get them over a bad deal. The premier No Limit Productions release grossed three times its $3.5 million budget and remains a cult favorite for many.
Those who enjoyed the first go-around will be delighted to know that I Got The Hook Up 2 has been in the works courtesy of writers Ramello Barnes and Michael Ballard. It is unlikely that most of the original cast will be returning, with artists like C-Murder and Mystikal in jail, and the likes of Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg busy with their own projects. But Master P and AJ Johnson are reportedly set to reprise their roles for the sequel. Then there is Fatboy SSE, whose drive and presence won Master P over.
"He came to Hollywood without the Hollywood agents and all that stuff and turned up. That go to show you, you could be a star. Just keep chasing your dreams and goals," P said in a video he posted to Instagram to announce Fatboy's involvement on Sunday, May 13.
