Backed by Hollywood attornies Lisa Bloom and Walter Mosely, Teairra Mari held a press conference in Bloom's Woodland Hills offices on Thursday morning (May 17) to announce that she is suing both ex-boyfriend Akbar Abdul-Ahad and 50 Cent for exposing sexually explicit photographs of her to the public.
In the days leading up to the announcement, Bloom hinted that it was only a matter of time before Abdul-Ahad and Fiddy found out that they are in hot water for sharing the indecent imagery online. Bloom has been classifying Mari as a victim of revenge porn while vowing to go after her offenders in the face of denial on Abdul-Ahad's part and efforts by Fif to mock the women's rights lawyer and her client on social media. Mari spoke on the actions of both men during the presser.
"He's saying that he didn't do it, but I know in my heart that he did and even though I want to believe the lies, I have got to stand up for myself, or it looks like I did it. That's why I'm going full pursuit," she said of Abdul-Ahad.
Citing 50 Cent as a friend of her ex, Mari recalled how the rapper followed in his footsteps by posting the lewd photograph of her staring into the camera after performing fellatio. She stressed the magnitude of such a huge public figure putting her out there like that and how it could impact her reputation. But what really seemed to baffle Mari is how unapologetic he's been about doing so, stating, "He had no remorse, no regard. He posted another photo and complained that IG was censoring him."
Bloom and Mari reportedly followed up the conference by heading over to police headquarters to file a formal report to go along with the suit.
