Jimmy Fallon had the privilege of breaking in one of the fastest rising stars in music on Wednesday (May 23) with "Gucci Gang" rapper, Lil Pump, delivering the first television performance of his career on The Tonight Show.

Amidst anticipation for the release of his Harvard Dropout mixtape, and the coming of an intriguing interview with J. Cole, Pump was summoned to entertain the live and televised primetime audience with a real-time rendition of his premiere single, "Esskeetit." What fans got was the surreal, though, as a pair of backup dancers dressed in purple inflatable suits wobbled around and confetti fell to the stage.

Pump presenting the catchy tune in the flesh gave an alternative look to those who've gotten in tune with the vibe through streams or via the extravagant and carefree imagery of the official "Esskeetit" video. As the bounce emanated through the spotlights rolling over the trio, a hypnotic wheel spun behind them on the psychedelic set. All in all, it provided for an infectious energy that drew Fallon to his stage to feverishly plug the single.

Pump's performance comes following impressive appearances at Coachella and Rolling Loud. With SoundCloud rap on the rise, it was a relatively important moment for young rappers coming from the subgenre, as they've only had small venue shows to aspire to, in spite of the ballooning streaming stats they've put up, up until this point.
