As a former NFL quarterback, Warren Moon knows what its like for all eyes to be on you when fans come to the stadium to enjoy a football game. And although his legendary career might serve as an indication that he was perfectly comfortable drawing all of that focus, he doesn't believe a player should ever compete with the American flag for attention.

Over the past couple of years, Moon has become one of TMZ's more accessible gridiron OG's. So the celebrity news outlet naturally reached out to him to get his two cents upon receiving news of the league's new National Anthem policy that requires protesting players to remain in the locker room during the patriotic pre-game ceremony.

"A lot of times the cameras were focused on which players were kneeling, as opposed to maybe showing the cameras on the flag or showing the singer that's singing the National Anthem," said Moon while describing where he saw the conflict in the demonstrations being. While he doesn't believe Commissioner Roger Goodell and the owners' resolution is perfect, the way he sees it, it is as perfect as fans are going to get. And it'll work towards preserving the league's business interests.

"This way, all the attention goes back to the anthem and takes it away from the players, which it should be, because the anthem is the anthem and it should stand alone," he says.
