Recently, footage surfaced of a boat capsizing in a Missouri lake that was holding 31 people. Because of that, officials on the scene said 17 people ended up dead, including children.

Jim Pattison Jr., the president of the Ride The Ducks company said the Ride The Ducks Branson boat capsized because of strong winds that “came out of nowhere.” Fourteen people on the boat survived and were rescued by passengers and workers on a nearby showboat.

Footage of the incident caught by a bystander shows two duck boats being affected by the strong winds that made the water produce heavy waves. One of the ships made it to shore, while the other ended up sinking. According to US Coast Guard Lt. Commander Tasha Sadowicz, the boat ended up dropping 40 feet down, then rolled to an area that was 80 feet deep. Sadowicz said the 17 missing bodies were accounted for by Friday morning.
