Former WWE champion Brian Christopher Lawler, aka Grandmaster Sexay, died over the weekend after hanging himself in jail. According to TMZ, Brian was put on life support after his suicide attempt, and he was surrounded by his family, including his wrestling legend father Jerry Lawler.

Brian, 46, was arrested for DUI earlier in July after he led police on a chase, and when pulled over they found an open beer can in his console. His bail was set at $40,000.

The WWE released a statement following the news, writing, "WWE is saddened to learn that Brian Christopher Lawler, who is best known in WWE as Too Cool's Grandmaster Sexay, has passed away. Lawler, who is the son of WWE Hall of Famer Jerry "The King" Lawler, competed during the height of the Attitude Era. WWE extends its condolences to Lawler's family, friends and fans."
