According to reports, Atlanta rapper Columbia BT is facing serious legal trouble after being indicted on drug trafficking charges related to a $4 million cocaine bust. Columbia BT, born Tommie Walker, 42, was indicted on federal drug trafficking charges on September 12 and was arraigned along with his co-defendants on Friday.
Local news sources say authorities seized $220,000 in cash and 135 kilograms of cocaine. In a statement, U.S. Attorney B.J. Pak said, “These defendants were allegedly part of a multi-state drug distribution scheme that transported and distributed cocaine worth approximately $4 million,” adding, "Thanks to the work of law enforcement in Georgia, South Carolina and Colorado, this drug enterprise is now history.”
Pak also revealed that the investigation was launched in late 2017 when authorities were tipped off by packages received by Walker at his Atlanta warehouse. The cocaine was allegedly hidden in tractor-trailers leaving Colorado for Atlanta to be distributed throughout Georgia and South Carolina. BT's formal charges include conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine along with three counts of possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
