For anyone with a personal computer, the McAfee Security Scan is a familiar bit of software. The founder, John McAfee, is a computer programmer and cyber-security expert who took to Twitter to explain the risks associated with Trump's nationwide text. McAfee tweeted:
"The "Presidential alerts": they are capable of accessing the E911 chip in your phones - giving them full access to your location, microphone, camera and every function of your phone. This not a rant, this is from me, still one of the leading cybersecurity experts. Wake up people!"
According to a report, Donald Trump will be sending out a mass text to everyone in the country tomorrow (October 3). The message is only set to be an emergency test message for FEMA to warn the national in case of any country-wide emergencies.
The initial test was scheduled to happen on September 20, but was pushed back to October 3 according to CNN. The alert is expected to surface at 2:18 Eastern time, and will be sent out over 100 carriers including Sprint and AT&T.”
