Rumblings over the one segment of the BET Hip-Hop Awards Cypher caught the attention of the hip-hop world. Those in attendance of the pre-recorded event got to hear Vic Mensa freestyle where he reportedly dissed the late XXXTentacion for his history of domestic abuse. To make matters worse, Mensa's freestyle was shown while X's mother was in the building.
Many fans went after Vic on social media calling him a hypocrite among other things for his own history and admission to choking his ex-girlfriend. Nevertheless, Vic decided to address the controversy by offering an apology to XXXTentacion's mother but doubled down on his stance that he will not excuse anyone of domestic abuse.
