Update 10/27/2018:
According to the Allegheny Director of Public Safety, the Pennsylvania Synagogue shooting resulting in 11 people dead and 6 injuries. 4 of the people who were shot were police officers. According to the Anti-Defamation League, this is the deadliest attack on the Jewish community in the history of the United States.
The shooter, 46-year-old Robert Browers, is facing 29 charges, including hate crimes. Browers made racists posts on social media a few days before the shooting, including: “There is no #MAGA as long as there is a kike infestation, #Qanon is here to get patriots that were against martial law in the 90′s to be the ones begging for it now to drain muh swamp.” Qanon refers to a pro-Trump conspiracy theory that originally started on 4Chan. In another post, Bowers wrote: "HIAS likes to bring invaders in that kill our people,I can’t sit by and watch my people get slaughtered. Screw your optics, I’m going in.” HIAS is an American nonprofit organization that provides humanitarian aid to refugees.
According to reports, a gunman in Squirrel Hill, Pennsylvania went to a crowded synagogue and opened fire on civilians. Along with that, the shooter exchanged gunfire with police officers.
Three officers were shot as a result, and so far, eight people have been confirmed to be dead. Police on the scene noted the gunman went into the synagogue and yelled “all Jews must die” before opening fire on the crowd.
