Nicki Minaj's new beau has certainly gotten a lot of press coverage over the last 12 hours. Kenny Petty, 40, has most notably been scrutinized for his criminal past which includes being convicted of rape as a teenager and now reports confirm Petty has spent time in prison for killing a man as well.
According to The Blast, Petty pled guilty to first-degree manslaughter in the 2002 shooting death of Lamont Robinson. Petty reportedly shot Robinson “with a loaded handgun (sic) multiple times thereby causing his death.” Initially charged with second-degree murder, Petty agreed to a deal that bumped his charge down to manslaughter.
After pleading guilty to the manslaughter charge in 2006, Petty served seven years of a 10-year sentence. Petty was released from prison back in May of 2013 and was on supervised release until May of this year.
