Over the last month, fans of hip-hop have been enamored by the fallout of Tekashi 6ix9ine and the Tr3way movement, particularly with his 'manager' Shotti aka Kifano Jordan. The most prevailing thought has been that Shotti embezzled millions from the rising star, which led Tekashi to publicly fire his mentor and disband his entire crew.
Beneath that speculation, however, is another rumor that suggests El Chapo's alleged nephew, Jose Avila, may somehow be involved. In a recent stream, DJ Akademiks explored this theory and suggested that the sensational headline may have some validity to it after all.
"The real reason why these guys stopped working together wasn't that Shotti was robbing him," Akademiks explained, "but someone else got in [Tekashi's] ear and was giving him bad information, and he thought it was factual and went on a tirade.
Akademiks was clear that what he was saying was supported by facts as well as a voice recording, that he believes to be very telling considering that Avila is now the one closest to Tekashi's family.
