After a very turbulent promotional run before the documentary's premiere, Lifetime has officially released new trailers for the long-anticipated 'Surviving R Kelly.' In the short previews, R Kelly's alleged 'survivors' speak to the physical and emotional abuse they endured over time with the singer, including his ex-wife, Andrea Kelly.
"Why didn't anyone know this?," writer Mikka Kendall rhetorically asks the camera, "We all know this, but no one cared because we were black girls."
Anticipation has likely only grown for the docuseries after a gun threat derailed its premiere, while the first episode is set to air on Lifetime, January 3rd.
