The Los Angeles Lakers made as big a "statement" win as a team could make before the All-Star break with their Christmas Day win over the defending champion Golden State Warriors. However, the Lakers lost their best player in the process.

LeBron James went down with a groin injury in the third quarter of Tuesday's matchup but was able to walk off the floor under his own power. Following the game, James told reporters he wasn't concerned about the injury. But ESPN's Brian Windhorst and Adrian Wojnarowski broke the story early Thursday that LeBron would be missing a pretty decent chunk of time.

The report read that James would miss "several games" due to a "significant left groin strain." The Lakers played their first game of the season without James and are already on the wrong side of the column. Los Angeles went down to the Sacramento Kings by way of a walk-off three-pointer. The Lakers are certainly hoping James heals fast.
