Although the holidays are meant to be a time of joy for everyone, often times the heightened tension makes routine exercises nothing less than turbulent. This was the case for a young man who was kicked off an airplane on Christmas Eve, and then banned for life from American Airlines for not complying with carry-on instructions.

The issue at hand was that the man, who goes by @aristocratfilm on Instagram, refused to have one of his two allotted carry-on bags stored below the plane, considering that he was a diamond member and that was a promised accommodation.  When he insisted that he would hold on to his two bags for "medical reasons," the airplane personnel called for everyone to evacuate the plane.

"Has anybody ever been on a plane where they try to bully you for no reason?" the man said to the rest of the passengers, "they make you promises but then constantly give you terrible customer service and we turn the other cheek." He then pleaded with the passengers to speak on his behalf, stating, "Please ask as your right, what did I do? Y'all can leave, the cops can come, cool, but what did I do?"

To make himself clear, the man repeatedly says "I have one extra bag, I'm allowed two, I'm diamond, I'm allowed two and because of medical reasons I do not want to have to check my bags under the plane."

Back in the terminal, the man was then told by the 'director of operations from the control center' that he would never be allowed to fly with American Airlines again, a lifetime banishment that the man questioned by reiterating "I have a right to have a carry-on, I didn't use any ill language, I posed no threat whatsoever, and there are witnesses."

When the man expressed his disappointment that a person of that title wouldn't care about an innocent passenger, the director made an attempt at showing compassion, by saying "I do apologize, because it's Christmas time and it hurts me because I'm a human being too."
