Donald Trump appears to be fed up with the California forest fires that made 2018 the most deadly and destructive wildfire season in the state's history, as now he's decided to double down on his claims that the disaster is due to mismanagement.
"Billions of dollars are sent to the State of California," Trump said in a tweet this morning (Jan 9), "for Forest fires that, with proper Forest Management, would never happen. Unless they get their act together, which is unlikely, I have ordered FEMA to send no more money. It is a disgraceful situation in lives & money!"
Many of his detractors have noted that the wildfires are likely due to extreme climate change, while the majority of California's forests are actually federally held, with just 3 percent owned and managed by state and local agencies.
