Another day and another R. Kelly story, with this time one of his former collaborators condemning his alleged actions while swearing to never work with him again.
"I stand behind these women 1000%, believe them, know they are suffering and in pain, and feel strongly that their voices should be heard and taken seriously," Lady Gaga wrote in a released statement, "What I am hearing about the allegations about R. Kelly is absolutely horrifying and indefensible."
Gaga then went on to apologize for making a song with R. Kelly back in 2013, the second single from her third album Artpop called "Do What You Want (With My Body)." Gaga explained her thought process at the time, saying "I made both the song and video at a dark time in my life, my intention was to create something extremely defiant and provocative because I was angry and still hadn't processed the trauma that occurred in my own life."
The six-time Grammy award winner added "I think it's clear how explicitly twisted my thinking was at the time," reflecting on how she wished she had gotten therapy to cope with her post-traumatic stress as a victim of sexual assault.
To conclude her post, Gaga made clear that she stands with all the victims who have come forward, before adding that she "intends to remove the song off iTunes and other platforms and will not be working with [Kelly] again."
