A day after his arrest for the murder of two of his friends, Jamell Demons aka YNW Melly appeared in court the next morning, where the Broward Judge ordered that for the two counts of first-degree murder he's to remain in jail without bond. Demons is one of two suspects charged in the double murders of Christopher Thomas Jr (YNW Sakchaser) and Anthony Williams (YNW Juvy), as Cortlen Henry was charged and appeared in court the same day. Henry, who goes by YNW Bortlen, was also charged with two counts of accessory after the fact in addition to the two counts of first-degree murder. Henry is also the man that reportedly drove the two victims to the hospital after the shooting, while they both publicly mourned their friends' deaths that they said occurred during a drive-by shooting.

Rising rapper YNW Melly, real name Jamell Demons, and Cortlen Henry, aka YNW Bortlen were arrested on Wednesday and charged with two counts of first-degree murder. Henry was also charged with two counts of accessory after the fact.
The two rappers are accused of shooting and killing two members of their crew- Christopher Thomas Jr., aka YNW Sakchaser, and Anthony Williams, aka YNW Juvy, last year. Police said Demons and Henry staged the crime scene to resemble a drive-by shooting.
Melly addressed the claims on Instagram, writing, "o all my fans and supporters no I did not get locked up in Washington , but I am turning myself in today I want you guys to know I love you and appreciate every single one of y’all, a couple months ago I lost my two brothers by violence and now the system want to find justice.. unfortunately a lot of rumors and lies are being said but no worries god is with me and my brother @ynw.bortlen and we want y’all to remember it’s a ynw Family I love you @ynwsakchaser1 and @ynwjuvy #freeus."
