HBO released the trailer for the upcoming 2-part documentary Leaving Neverland, which tells the story of two men, James Safechuck and Wade Robson, who accuse Michael Jackson of sexually abusing them while they were underage. The documentary premiered at Sundance and grabbed a lot of attention for the graphic stories told by Robson and Safechuck.
Howard Weitman, an attorney for the Jackson family, released a statement about the documentary, aimed at Richard Plepler, the CEO of HBO. The statement reads, "Had HBO actually complied with the most basic of journalistic ethics—rather than just accept their salacious allegations at face value—it would have discovered so much more long before it ever got involved in this disgraceful project."
