Fresh off a very eventful NBA All-Star weekend, where J Cole not only performed at the Halftime Show but also was a main participant in the Dunk Contest, the Carolina legend is back with new visuals for his latest single.
"Middle Child" was released last month, following the success of his 5th studio album, KOD, during the promotion for the potentially star-studded Revenge of the Dreamers 3 mixtape. Meanwhile, the never-ending rumor of a potential collaboration with Kendrick Lamar continues to build anticipation by the day.
All the same, Cole seems determined to give the fans something they can feel in the meantime, while proclaiming himself to be the greatest of the current generation by rhyming: "To the OGs, I'm thankin' you now/was watchin' you when you was pavin' the ground/I copied your cadence, I mirrored your style/I studied the greats, I'm the greatest right now."
Meanwhile, the video was directed by longtime collaborators Mez and Scott Lazer, who depict Cole in his essence with your favorite rappers heads on his trophy wall.
