In this flashback clip from 2016, the late Ron Newt spoke about the process of his sons' group, The Newtrons, leaving Jackson Records for MCA, in a deal that was held up because Newt at the time was in prison. For that reason, he explains that he broke out of prison to sign the record deal, ultimately staying on the run for two years. During the segment, Newt also spoke to the rumors that he brought an oozie and a hand grenade into the MCA Records offices to get out of a contract, revealing that at one point he was met by a SWAT team.

Later on, he breaks down his lawsuit against Terrence Howard, Lee Daniels, and all the people involved in the making of FOX's Empire, which he believes ripped off his life story. To validate his claims, Newt says that he initially had a meeting with Howard at a hotel, where the actor inevitably stole his story after promising that he would work with him on developing a show about his life.
