"The Race" rapper Tay-K, real name Taymor Travon McIntyre, is being named in a lawsuit from Owney "Skip" Pepe and his wife Barbara.

65-year-old Pepe claims that he was brutally beaten and robbed by Tay-K while walking in an Arlington, Texas park in 2017. The lawsuit states, "McIntyre... savagely beat the defenseless 65-year-old, leaving him unconscious with multiple broken bones and [a] brain bleed... McIntyre dragged Mr. Pepe’s body off the trail and left him for dead in the woods."

Joshua White, the owner of Tay-K's label 88 Records and Tay-K's manager Ezra Averill were also named in the lawsuit, as they are accused of using the assault and robbery to boost Tay-K's name in the entertainment industry. The lawsuit states, "These Defendants chose to financially profit from McIntyre’s violent crimes and take money for themselves from the sale of his music that otherwise would be available to compensate McIntyre’s victims."

Tay-K is currently behind bars awaiting trial on capital murder charges in the shooting death of 21-year-old Ethan Walker. Tay-K was on house arrest while awaiting trial when he cut off his ankle monitor and fled, spawning the hit song "The Race." While on the run, Tay-K is accused of shooting and killing 23-year-old photographer Mark Anthony Saldivar. A month after Saldivar was killed, Tay-K allegedly beat and robbed Pepe.

Families of Walker and Saldivar have filed similar lawsuits against Tay-K.
