As Netflix continues their promotion of David Letterman's upcoming interview series "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction," a new preview has been released with Kanye West opening up about his struggles with bipolar disorder.
During the interview, Letterman asks Kanye if he can identify "the mechanism that's malfunctioning or taking a break in your brain," leading the impassioned artist to describe it as a "heightened connection with the universe."
From there, Kanye also likened the illness to a "sprained brain," comparing it to a sprained ankle with respect to the need for rest and proper treatment. "If someone has a sprained ankle you're not going to push on him more," Kanye explains to the audience, while noting that "with us once our brain gets to a point of spraining people do everything to make it worse."
Along with his interview with Kanye, the entire second season of Letterman's show will be released on Netflix on Friday (May 31), which will also include episodes with Tiffany Haddish, Melinda Gates, Lewis Hamilton and Ellen DeGeneres.
