Pat Bowlen, longtime owner of the Denver Broncos has passed away according to a statement confirming his death issued by the Bowlen family. They chose not to disclose the cause of death but stated that Pat died peacefully while surrounded by family. It is important to note, however, that Bowlen had been battling Alzheimer's for quite some.

Since buying the Broncos in 1984, the team won 300 games over the span of three decades and had as many losing seasons as the franchise had Super Bowl appearances. Under his ownership, the Broncos captured the Super Bowl title in 1998, 1999, and 2016.
