It's just been reported that Eminem's biological father, Marshall Bruce Mathers Jr., passed away earlier this week due to what's been alleged as a fatal heart attack in his home near Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Eminem frequently addressed his biological parents throughout his career, making no secret of his disdain for both his father and mother over the tough circumstances he faced growing up in Detroit. With that said, unlike his mother who he infamously condemned for her drug use throughout his childhood, his father reportedly abandoned him upon birth while it's been assumed that they never actually met in person.
In prior interviews, Eminem said that as a child he had sent letters to his father that were marked returned to sender, and that although he would sometimes call to speak to other family members they never even talked on the phone.
It's otherwise been noted that Em's father married his mother when he was 22 and she was 15, only to then move away two years later to start a new family in California. Back in 2001, however, once Eminem reached platinum status he published a letter in a newspaper to explain his side of the story, though by all accounts it appears that they never got the chance to reconcile.
